Wow - a whole
page dedicated to Tivo? Yes, a whole page. See, Tivo has
changed the way I watch TV - literally. I now own 3 of them and
have different Season Passes (you tell it to record all of something by
keyword or title or actor or... and it does, even if the time or channel
changes!) for each of them depending on what I like to watch in what

This sounds like a sales pitch, I know -
and it kinda is - I love to share things I enjoy with others. It's
the same reason I created a huge web site for Brian Regan - I want
people to enjoy what I enjoy. Tivo sounds weird if you haven't
seen it or used it, but it's awesome. First, I'll tell you how it
helps me as a Brian Regan fan:
I set up a
keyword Season Pass for Brian Regan to automatically record
any program on any channel at any time that has "Brian Regan" in the
description, actor list, or title. The payoff of this is that even
if I have no idea that Brian Regan is appearing somewhere, it records.
I get Comedy Central specials, Late Night appearences, even a random
short interview. I get questions often about where you can get a
copy of a Brian Regan video like "What's Wrong with the Regan Boy" or
any Showtime Special. The fact is, you can't legally get copies of
these - Showtime isn't selling; Regan's people aren't selling. The
only legal video is Brian's DVD,
I Walked On the Moon. So, to get
recordings, you've got to mess with tapes and a VCR, or use a DVR.
I recommend Tivo here because I use it personally and I have for years.
I currently own 3 Tivos, including an HDTV Tivo (dude - that thing is
awesome other than the hardware problems I've had that Directv won't
support due to their splintering relationship w/ Tivo - *sigh*).
I'm also a big
Dallas Stars fan - well, with a Tivo, you can start watching a
program even while it's still recording.
So, if a game starts at 7:30pm, I can start watching it from the
beginning at 8:15 while it's still recording. I can then fast
forward through commercials and period breaks saving me a lot of time.
